I've got a pair of KSC75's and really enjoy their sound. I'm also thinking of getting some SR60's too (see thread 'damn you headfi'). However, after reading the many threads about the KSC75's it would appear that the SR60's won't sound hugely different.

Can anyone with both these pairs of cans let me know their opinion?

they certainly have a difffernt sound. and listen to both, the sound presentation on the 75s is better. not so in-your-face as the sr60s.

I've got both of these cans and love them both. They're sonically different, but it's hard to quantify if you think the 60s would be worth the money.

IMO, it depends on how you plan to use them. For me, the 75s are hands down the best headphones to use for portables (iPods, PCDPs, portable radios, etc.) in noisy enviornments or on the go. At home, however, I'll reach for my 60s every time (even if the source is my iPod or PCDP) because to me they sound a lot better than the 75s in a quieter environment. At work I use the 75s or my Koss 35s exclusively.

The 75s do a fine job, but they weren't designed to compete against the 60s in a home setting, although you'll probably find people on this board who will argue against that and are content with the 75s at home. To each his/her own, huh?

SR60 sounds better than KSC75. If you amp the KSC75, you can get closer to SR60 territory.

I suggest you use the advanced search for search the keywords "KSC75 SR60" in posts written by kramer5150, the creator of the KSC75 kramer-mod.

KSC-75s and SR-60s do have very similar sound signatures, but whenever I switch back to SR-60s after listening to KSC-75s for an extended period of time, they're just- better. Period.
The detail and resolution squash the KSC-75s.
But, I do prefer the KSCs for poorer recordings as the SR-60s tend to be a little too revealing depending on what you're listening to. I prefer the SR-60s for live recordings.
I'd say its definitely worth it to have both pairs. But you're just gonna want to upgrade anyways, so why don't you go ahead and get the MS1s?
