Koss KSC35's compared to Sennheiser HD497's

I had the HD497 and the KSC-75. I thought the 497 was a very considerable improvement. It was more balanced, it didn't have the grainy treble of the Koss, it had a much fuller sound, with better soundstage and instrument separation.

Don't waste your money on mid-fi if you don't really have to.
Instead, save for something decent. But even then, you'll still like your KSC35

Well I know the HD555's would be a good upgrade. Should I just save up and try and get them? But I would really like something better now. If I save for the HD555's it could take a few weeks or a month(maybe longer).

They're both good upgrades, and the 555 is better than the 497. It's your decision whether you can live with the Koss for a bit longer.
