Maybe they will do a Koss x drop kph3xi with a detachable mmcx cable, easily removable pads, 3 pads options including yaxis, 414s and grado g cush and different colors

FWIW, I did ask Koss if the KPH30i was for use in prisons, the rep seemed to think not / that it's probably too expensive.

Can someone finally put this to rest for me? The clear housing leads me to believe these are just repurposed Portapro/Sportapr/KSC35 drivers stuck in a new housing. I just don't believe Koss would use some other driver. I say that as a massive 35/Porta/Sporta fan.

Both the 75X and PortaPro X have permanently attached cables. Wouldn't expect this to change.

It is indeed the same driver as the porta pro (non titanium coated)

More prison tech info if you're interested. I guess they took out the foams so that there isn't any compartment that is not visible for inspection.

I did some more intentional A-Bing of the clear KPH30i vs. my beige unit. They largely sound the same, but there is a character to the treble in the clear unit that's a bit different, a bit more grainy / clacky sounding. Could be related to the foam behind the driver, could be some other unit variation.
