Office Depot is selling Koss A-250 headphones for only US$91.95 through Amazon.com:

GoodCans.com recommends them as alternatives to some Sennheisers:

How do these sound?

Now is it just me or does it look like a breeding experiment between Senn HD-600 and some Stax electrostatic headphones gone horribly wrong?

for what it's worth, I've auditioned these through some cheapo DVD player at a local Radioshack for around 30 minutes with my own vivaldi CD and my impression was 1) Not the most comfortable headphones but these were very light. 2) They sounded somewhat like Grados with somewhat exaggerated, but well extended highs but is a bit smoother and did not have the "slam" of the Grados. It was very evident in the beginning of Spring where the violins sounded very fast and airy without being overally fatiguing but the bass and the overall presence of sound was somewhat lacking.(could've very well been the gear behind it)
All in all the sound was completely opposite of what I expected from a pair of Koss headphones. I liked them during the short try and do think they definitely deserve a try but at $91 they are still too closely priced to used HD580, K501, etc methinks.
