I have been offered one for about 1/10 of the original asking price ($ 3000 here in Norway around 1996). Something to go for?

Amplifier: Marantz PM7200 Class A mode
Speakers: Klipsch RF-52
Source: Pioneer DVD-575A

Are you talking about the transport or the DAC?

Micromega IMO made some of the BEST transports ever made back in the day. I used to own a couple of their Trio transports and Duo transports. On the other hand, they used transport mechanisms now discontinued, so if the old mechanism goes, you're in deep trouble.

The DAC's are nice and refined in nature, but certainly there are "better" DAC's out there for several hundred dollars out of Asia.

just new to the forum as googled for my 'new' [used] DAC, the micromega Duo.pro2 mentioned elsewhere. My main rig has a fairly up-to-date CDP (ModWright Sony 9100ES Sig Truth with tube-rectified PSU) but my amp (Gryphon TABU Century) 'begs' for use of its XLR inputs and I've been thinking about streaming and this is a hobby, right?, so I went and grabbed the Duo.pro2 because I remember it as sounding so darned life-like...

I have a lot of vinyl [interest] too, so I figured, based upon my memory that finding a DAC sounding 'more' analog than this one will be tough, to go for it. I had a Spectral SDR1000SL for years too, sold to upgrade to the MWI (which does 'sound' better).

Does anybody have anything to tell me about my DAC? I've no idea just how many of these babies were made. Are there any reputable upgrades (e.g., clock). I am a novice about digital - sorry.

I am considering streaming (a friend bought a Sooloos but for me, too expensive) and the Sonus is on my shortlist. Anything better and easier to hook my micromega to?

I sure would appreciate any feedback whatsoever. I can't be the only one with ears enough to recognize the strengths in this DAC (but then again, maybe nobody has auditioned it?)...

Thanks and,
Cheers!
John
