I'm looking for a place to buy a large knob, preferably one with a notch or line to indicate volume level, that fits the Alps RK27, and is silver-matte in color.

Anyone know anywhere?

Oops, forgot one thing!

No eBay or anything that requires me to use PayPal.

Credit card? You could look around on mouser (knob). The Alps shaft is 1/4", which is 6.35mm. Eagle Plastics Devices make a number of them (aluminum, not just plastic).

Otherwise, if you can't order online, you are kinda SOL unless you can find something locally.

I can order online just fine, I just don't use PayPal unless they take non-PayPal CC.

Ooops, my bad. The Alps Blue in my Counterpoint preamp has a 1/4" shaft, not 6mm as the Alps that you and amb sell do. It is the OEM pot and probably 20 years old. I was going to replace it with a new one from you, but there are some physical differences between them and the new one wouldn't fit easily.

Take the time to search this DIY forum for knobs. I know I've posted in at least 10 threads about knobs!
Try the standards: Mouser, Digikey, Jameco. Try audiokit.it in Italy.

Take a look here:

ARRLWeb: Hamfest and Convention Database

There are a couple Hamfests coming up in Oklahoma, and probably several more in neighboring states you may be able to attend.

Although the focus is on radio, you will find a ton of parts there. There are *always* several guys with boxes and boxes of loose knobs. It's tough to find sets, but if you want one really cool knob for your project, you will find it at a Hamfest.

Great place to scout tubes and you're likely to find vintage hi-fi gear there, too.
