For those of you who have heard both, how much better is the HJE900 over the S4?  (or is it?) 
 
I've had the S4 and did not care for the (to me) overwhelming bass and treble that tended toward being hot/harsh.
 
I currently have the Ety MC5 and like the details, but similar to the RE0, am still looking for more full-bodiness.
 
At the current price of $90, the HJE900 is suddenly very much in my radar view, but I'm afraid they might be similar to the S4.  Let me know...

This HJE900s sound like this to me. They are still good 'phones tho.

I have listened to both and I prefer the S4s.  The HJE900s are not my cup of tea.  Your $90 could be better spent than on the Panasonic's.

idk people somtimes are preferring them then the top dogs and those are priced like 4 times the price

They are very good sounding headphones in terms of clarity, but they are weird. They certainly take some time to get used to.
