I just upgraded my Desktop Speakers to a pair of Klipsch R-41PM bookshelf speakers and a Klipsch R-100SW sub. Input to the Speakers is a SoundBlasterX G6 USB DAC via Digital Optical cable. The problem I seem to have is the low mids is really bad. Using the sound blaster connect program to adjust setting has had little effect in resolving this. My Logictech system sounded better at lower volumes, I upgraded thinking I would have less distortion at higher volume with a better set of speakers. Can a windows equalizer be used with a USB DAC like the soundblaster to try and refine this? Or am I stuck with the rather clunky EQ that creative provides. Any help would be appreciated as I believe this can be salvaged, I just don't know quite how to go about it. A Lot of the music I listen to is Pink Floyd, Rush, Radiohead, ETC. Maybe ditch the sound baster DAC and go back to the onboard realtec audio output maybe?
