It looks great!

Please power it on and let it burn, how do you like your H20 so far? Can't wait to hear about your impression against the THR-1
thanks! It is cold like ice block, it arrived this morning only and I need to wait until ti gets to room temp before I'll power it on... :frowning2: Gustard H20 is good but lacking last dynamics with Susvara I think. With other HP tried it was amazing!

I dreamt about having the same set up as well! Please let us know how it goes! 😊
Thank you! I'll report back for sure after it settles down. I was surprised how small THR-1 is compared to my current gear. :)

I have some questions:
  • How good does this amp perform with the Susvara, if comparison is to be made with a very good setup like speaker amplifier (e.g. Benchmark AHB2)? Has anyone really compared the THR-1 with a really good speaker amp? How big is the gap?
  • Is there any benefit using the XLR input since the amp isn't true balance?
Thanks

I can answer only this one and you are right there are no difference between XLR and jack marked High, only difference is connector termination.

Thanks for your reply. I actually refer to the input. My DAC can output both XLR / RCA, and I wonder whether there is any difference between XLR and RCA from my DAC to the amp? I know that XLR generally has higher voltage but if we ignore the difference in output voltage, is there any sonic benefit using "XLR in"?

For comparison, my current SS amp is V281, and the amp clearly sounds better with XLR input.

Ah sorry :) You can't ignore output voltage, more voltage range = more dynamics "space".

Question to THR-1 users, how had sound of THR-1 changed after burn in period? My new one is not sounding better than Gustard H20. :frowning2: It sounds a bit veiled compared to H20 now and dynamics is about the same with Susvara. :frowning2: Thank you!

I'd suggest keeping it on 24/7 and 1-2 weeks before any critical listening.

THR-1 is not an ultra-clinical sound machine, it's all about listening pleasure, bit warm but not too much, very analog sounding, kind of tubey like but SS

now it is playing pink noise all time... Yes I know about sound characteristic, but H20 has the same sound char. but maintains more details and more life like vocal presentation with better texture at least for now... the time will tell. :)

I am sure the H20 is a beast on its own, you can't deny that haha, just take a look inside, no joke
