I'm opening this thread in order to help those who fancy a Kenwood HD30B9, but can't afford its price tag of 400-500$.
This japanese site lists some shops for the HD30GB9, starting from 40000 Yen, that should be less than 300$!

http://www.bestgate.net/mp3_kenwood_...ghd30gb9b.html

I can't read japanese, but I know that Eisanmall.com sells the HD30GB9 worldwide (free shipping)... too bad its price is around 450$, so it's more than what we could find, for example, on Bluetin (399$).
According to the list of shops which sell the Kenwood, there are some really cheep way to bu an HD30GB9. We need someone who can read Japanese, and find a place which ships it worldwide.
I'm not that interested for myself, since I'm happy with my JVC, and maybe I'll try an iMod soon, but I admit that the idea of a 30gb Kenwood for 280-300$ appeals me.

I'm in Tokyo like right now...where can I get it for cheap at a store? I don't really want to go all over the place though...

Thanks

if I can find a place that sells them cheap...then maybe...problem is that I don't know where.

I went to places like yodobashi camera and bic camera and they cost around $415 US

I heard that you can get them for around $350

Well, the Yahoo store requires you to contact them just for shipping to Okinawa and they don't ship internationally at all... Think they've been asked before since they even have a message in English saying so.

[Edit] I only did a quick check on that list for those who sold at for around 40 000 yen and couldn't find any that would ship internationally. Two or so do not state this explicitly but since they look quite small (like a corner shop kind of small) and state a shipping rate to each prefecture I'm prepared to guess they won't ship internationally. Searching on Kakaku.com returned results for the 60GB version from around 55 000 yen and the 30GB version from around 40 000 yen but apart from a Hiroshima shop (again doesn't mention international shipping so I wouldn't bet they ship outside of Japan) it's about the same list of stores. I think your best bet is to find someone in Japan to buy them for you and have it shipped privately.

pricejapan.com does ship to the US and would sell you the 30gb for $406...

Audiocubes, would sell the 60GB for $549.

Blutin.com have all versions but don't list prices. An quick email should do...

just add in an amp or a line attenuator to get rid of the mad hiss from the kenwood and you are set! the whole package can be had for only about 700$!
