If it's not there anymore, there was a large b&w image of an obscure Star Wars robot??? Labeled "gonk" - is that the sound one of those Empire, Jabba or Jawa-owned robots made?

Anyways, I felt it served as an appropriate metaphor for his music. His new "album" just came out for all you G-man lovers, hot off the 'assembly line' I would suppose.

I checked the site to better understand the pathetic state of our popular culture, and was suprisingly amused.

*Hacking is wrong, but sometimes it is still entertaining nonethe less.

It looks like a trash receptacle, which is quite appropriate, I'd say.

"gonk" is a power droid that was more or less a prop stumbling around inside the Jawa sandcrawler when C3PO and R2D2 are first waking up after being captured. All it does in the film is say "gonk". Lucas said this was one of the easiest droids to make, it being a pair of plastic storage bins painted black with some plastic conduit over the forelegs of the actor inside.

I'd rather hear a gonk than Kenny G.

Hehe, Gonk is cool. BTW, it doesn't just say "gonk", it mumbles something else sometimes. According to BlueHarvest, it's "gonkestia kohje", whatever that means...

It warms my heart to know that there are people out there that would go out of their way to hack into the website of a man who has utililized smooth, "easy listening" jazz and used it as a tool for marketing; while he becomes rich and subsequently more recognized, newer, far more skilled and talented saxophone players, receive significantly less recognition. I can just hope that he doesn't think that the calliber of his musical skill is of the same calliber of his sales techniques; I'm sure the receptionists in your doctor's waiting room do, however.

I'm just glad to know that there are other Star Wars geeks out there instead of just me. [Just for the record, I do not own, nor have I ever wore a Star Wars costume]

Well, considering that it is still there either he needs to fire his webmaster or somebody bought the kennyg.com URL and decided to put a picyure of gonk on it for their own inscrutible reasons.

As for musical taste, I don't really care what everybody else listens to, as long as they don't make my listen to them either attacking other music or raving about thier own tastes.

It's good to understand your culture at large and be aware imo. I don't understand how that's necassarily pornographic. You only read things you agree with?

What really put KennyG into the realm of contempt was his over-dubbing of his fake middle school-level playing next to Lou Armstrong - It's really quite disturbing if you have any appreciation of the history and evolution of music, especially in a day and age now when jazz sales are at their lowest, clubs are closing, and it's extremely difficult to make a living playing. Basically, what he said was **** You, you're meaningless, to the many people in the jazz tradition who have commited their lives and financial well being (even back in jazz's 'golden age') to advance the cause of Jazz, in it's various but honest forms.

something you might want to think about if you're a jazz or music fan, since you, the fan, help to make or brake the direction of music. People's endorsement of mr G's tasteless antics, like overdubbing his ax w/ Satch, help to patently de-legitimize jazz imo. Not funny stuff to me.
