Curious if I would like this or Abyss Phi more.

Currently using an Abyss and Utopia although the Utopia is on the chopping block.

Hello.

Here is the first feedback of the listen of the Kennerton Tror, at the Audio Show "Sound-days" in Paris this afternoon, by sle (Stéphane).

I translate the text:

Quote: " First listen to the Tror at the Sound Days this afternoon and big slap.
: Love:

I expected to be pleasantly surprised after the enthusiastic feedback from Eric and Pierre but this was beyond my expectations.
In direct comparison the Odin appears a little clogged, veiled and dull.
The Tror is good in all registers without any apparent faults in my ears.
The voices sound admirable without coquetry and in a very natural way.
It descends in the low as few headphones and can compete with the Abyss in this register, which is not nothing. Treble is fluid and very detailed without sourness.

I prefer his signature to that of Susvara which sounds as well very well but with a more distant, more ethereal.
History of tastes again ...

The other good surprise is the weight that is significantly reduced and this is likely to please a lot.
This point has never been a problem for me but I can understand that some may be embarrassed in the long run.

Congratulations to Kennerton for this new headphone that will make speak of him assuredly. "

EDIT (post above):
amplifier used with the Hifiman Susvara: Viva Egoista 845.
amplifier used with the the Kennerton Tror and the Odin: Viva Egoista 845 and 2A3; and the new Auris 2A3 amp.
Cable used with the Kennerton Tror: the new Kennerton stock cable plaited and nylon sheathed.

Note: sle (Stéphane) who was able to listen to both the Susvara, the Tror and the Odin with the above amplifiers, at the "Sound-Days" in Paris October 14, is also the owner of an Abyss, a Utopia and an Odin, and a Viva 845 amp, that he knows very well good.

Hello.

Here is an other feedback of the listen of the Kennerton Tror, at the Audio Show "Sound-Days" in Paris this afternoon, by Yacine.

I translate the text:

quote:

" Today at the festival "SON & IMAGE" (in Paris - France) I saw Pierre, Ali and Julien ... To go straight to the point, I tested the Tror.
For my part I found that the Tror went much further than the Odin on all the criteria: comfort, spatialization, details, extremities of the bandwidth .... .... Even if the listening conditions were not top with a lot of noise, I clearly understood that with the Tror it was 4K HDR whereas the ODIN was only FULL HD.
(translator's note: comparison in terms of image, for definition of sound)

The Tror is an excellent headphone that I will locate between an ABYSS V2 and a UTOPIA. Basically it is too "straight" for me, so I preferred the ODIN on the VIVA 2A3.
: Love: "

" Last thing (to say), the cable of the Tror is of a rare quality.
:Bravo: "

Hi everybody.

How the Tror is perceived by one of its creators, Max (Kennerton's chief engineer)?

Easy, Max uses the Tror on a daily basis (because it is the most neutral), and the Odin "for the holidays" (because probably more fun).

Otherwise you can read these 3 posts on the Russian forum (via google translate) to get a sense of how one of the fathers of the Tror and the Odin (Max, aka Hardcorist on the Russian forum) perceives his two "children", who like each child have their own personality. (nb: They don't look alike, for the sound).

Neat story about Hair. That's actually incredible for that historic music and your personal connection.
I'm in awe of the creators. I think the 2 fellows who wrote all that music in so short a time are up there with Lennon and McCartney.

('managed to see the Broadway revivals a few times. Still fills me with chills.)
The medley and blending of themes and melodies is up there with Abbey Road IMHO.

As for my thoughts on vocals with planars, yep, I have an SR009 and still have issues there, but I hold on to it since it sounds nice with SACD which has inherently much less glare to me while preserving insight and reach.

I think I have coerced the LCD4 to behave all the time with a good cable (Norne Draug2).

Thanks again for the great story!!

Thank you.

For the pleasure of the ears, one of my favorite titles of the musical "Hair" in this album.

Listen this soundtrack with a headphone (planar?) which reproduces the bass guitar with vigour and the voices with emotion; The trip assured ... :)

Yes. What's up with TRor? Typo? Or have I missed some new headphones? :)

Hi.

No, it's TROR (Kennerton Tror) (and not Thror or Thor or Zeus ...) the name of the new Kennerton planar flagship headphone (expected early 2018).

Note:Tror, a name not very easy to pronounce in French is one of the alias of the supreme Nordic deity, the god Odin.

But the Tror is very different, for the sound compared to the Odin, despite its obvious kinship with the Odin, as summarized with this picture below ...
