Trying a new setup :

Sony Wm1z - Hugo2 - Phatlab Phantasy - Odin

Richer warmer sound signature (as compared to CTH). Both treble and bass extensions are felt with more impact.

Hey guys, my Odin Mk 2 has a vibration in the left driver on a couple songs with deep bass. I had noticed a couple of people talk about the same thing...but didn’t really notice anyone saying what they did (if anything) to fix it. Is this something that I need to contact Kennerton about?

I had this problem with one of my Mk2 (but on the right, iirc), and I sent mine back to Kennerton for a fix. My local dealer was really helpful in taking care of the case (sending back to Russia and receiving it back). I don’t know what they did but I think they replaced the driver. I also changed the wood cup to a Bog Oak :)

Thanks man. That is exactly what I needed. It is only under warranty until July so I need to get it taken care of.....just going to miss it while it is gone!

Hello everyone.

Here is the link of a new comparison of the three headphones planar Kennerton: Odin mk2, Thridi and Thror made by @Milan01, this time on other musical genres (varied) , followed by some of my comments about this new comparison.
(In french, to read on this French forum at the following link : https://musique-o-casque.com/viewtopic.php?p=1497#p1497 )

Do not hesitate to use google translate (note: "aigu" in french = treble (and not "acute") ; "grave" in french = bass (and not "serious")

Hello everyone !

Here is my final review about Kennerton Thror, Thridi and Odin mk2 :)

https://musique-o-casque.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=26&start=580

Great ! :)

Hello Milan.

Superb synthesis of your previous reports and superb very detailed photographs of these three Kennerton headphones.

Unsurprising conclusions about your preferences, which I understand and respect perfectly.

For my part, I am happy to own both an Odin mk2 and a Thror; so I could listen with the greatest pleasure to the WAIT track of M83:wink:

Congratulations again Milan, for these very serious, rigorous, precise and precious comparisons of these three planar Kennerton headphones; a great work that will be a milestone on this forum. :)

Hello everyone.

Here is an interesting article to read, from the Russian site measuring headphones reference-audio-analyzer.pro, talking about the different types of frequency response of the headphones, and their perception according to the sound level and the noise surrounding. Very informative. :)

https://reference-audio-analyzer.pro/faq-type-fr.php

And the French translation of this Russian article (with some comments and patches for the translation of the Russian text in French) (which you can translate into English!)

Hi all,

STAX 009S,MRSPEAKERS VOCE,HIFIMAN SUSVARA, KENNERTON THROR headphones comparison.

http://erji.net/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=2142356
(Note : text in Chinese; use Google translate)

Regarding the Kennerton Thror, in this Chinese review.

Strengths:
Clean sound and fast.
Very good tonal balance on the three bands, without coloration.
Easy to drive.
Finish / robustness.

Weaknesses:
Slight (relative) lack of definition (compared to the Susvara).
(Note: Definition that can be improved by replacing the stock cable with a more defined cable, it is recommended to change the cable).
Lack of impact for the bass (compared to the Abyss 1266 more toned).
Medium wearing comfort (clamping).
(Note: Solution: remodel by folding (twist) outwards the two metal blades of the headband to reduce clamping).

EDIT: and the appreciations of the same author, but this time in 2016, concerning the headphones HIFIMAN HE-1000 V2, FOCAL UTOPIA, AUDEZE LCD4, STAX 009.

Thank you, Milan.

Unvarnished raw wood; hole for XLR mini connector not yet milled.

When these cups in Karelian birch are varnished in gloss lacquer, they will be splendid! :)

This wood cups are most likely for Singapore's CanJam on March 30 and 31, 2019.

It will take Max to activate his work to finish the wood cups, if he wants these cups are on site in due course.

Imho, it's Kennerton's boss who will bring them on the spot.

There is still a lot of work to be done.
Artistic drafts?

EDIT: Personally, what I find fantastic is that from two planks of wood, after careful work of the wood, one arrives at a finish exemplary and durable of these beautiful wood cups; it's all the know-how of the Russians of Saint Petersburg; not to mention their latest high-tech planar drivers, whose manufacture remains a mystery.

High-end and luxourious products found throughout the world, starting with Singapore!:)
