Hm I wonder if the pads has anything to do with it. Unlike the Vali pads which has perforations, from the pics these seems to be solid leather pads.

Solid pads will definitely bump the bass.

That Beyerdynamic headband certainly matches the beautiful wooden cups in stylistic form.

Very good design choice indeed....Beyerdynamic headband certainly works for comfort and very portable. Its one of the reason I still have some Beyers left in my collection.
The problem is the round cups has sort of a finnicky fit where depends on if you push the headphones forward or backward from your ears, either gets intense bass or intense treble.
These wooden HD650ish oval cups should be much better for sound tuning and comfort wise.

I am looking for some thumping open back goodness but not as v-shaped as the Vali 2019. More Focal Clear like. Would the new Vali and/or Caspian fit that bill?

Now that the pics for the stabilized Rognir on the tour has been revealed...
It seems my hunch was right about the cups looking like its being submerged in water/rustic looking
I had a choice between the 2 and I choose the former but both are beautiful in their own right...

I asked for the Version 1 tuning...slightly W-shaped FR for a more fun sound
Let's see if the tour unit comes w/ the Version 2 tuning...more neutral/tonally correct FR
