Imho, the Vali 2021 (with its electrodynamic driver with graphene membrane) will have a more balanced frequency response (FR) than the old Vali 2019 (and its electrodynamic driver with paper membrane), with notoriously more clarity and brilliance in the frequency range 2 KHz to 10 KHz and with a better balanced midrange, at least if we take as reference curve (recognized) that of the Utopia for these two FR curves.

In addition, I think that the greater technicality of the "graphene" driver of the Vali 2021 will bring more precision and resolution (in addition to more clarity) compared to the old "paper" driver of the Vali 2019.

Thanks for the detailed info as always Eric! I have the Vali 2019 and love the sound signature and the organic timbre that they have.

I own the Magni V3 and the Gjallahorn JM as well, so I know how good those graphene coated driver can sound, so Im really interested in how will they sound in an open back desing.

Anyways, looking forward to read some reviews.

Looks like the Vali 2021 got more bass than the Vali 2019 and the Utopia. The graphene driver can slam very hard with great clarity.

According to these comparative FR curves to the Utopia: a little more bass and sub-bass with the Vali 2021 (compared to the 1 KHz) and a little more low mids (between 300 and 500 Hz) with the Vali 2019 (compared to the 1 KHz).

However I am no fan of the bright focal tunings in general.

Well, althought Im a big fan of Kennerton and the 2019 vali, can't judge two headphones based on a graph IMHO.

Totally agree, you can't judge headphones based in graphs.
My Statement was just based on the fact that according to the graph the kennerton Vali has more Bass and mid presence and less treble energy, which is important for my sound preferences.

I don't know if these FR curves will help you, as they are very dissimilar.

For the FR curves of the RAA site, they are normalized to the frequency 1 KHz (= relative zero dB)

The FR curves of the Rögnir are obtained in a very different way and imho hardly comparable to the FR curves made by RAA.

One can only assume an excellent frequency response of the Rögnir in the bass and sub-bass range, while the Thekk (with its stock ECl-01 pads) has a important roll-off below 50 Hz, which is not annoying for listening to a bass guitar, but a bit more for listening to the 20 Hz vibrations of an earthquake or a rocket take-off, when used in home cinema.

Will the Kennerton Rögnir, Kennerton's premium closed-back planar headphones, become, one day, a Kennerton's iconic headphones?

In any case, the poster in the background of this picture of the Rögnir taken in the office of Kennerton's CEO, Valentin Kazanzhi, is already, for sure.

"We Can Do It!" is written on that poster.

So, did they do it? (the guys from Kennerton) to come out a really nice and really good top-of-the-line closed-back planar headphones?

I, for one, would say; Yes, you have done it!

How do people find the upper midrange/treble on the Rognir? I enjoy the tonal smoothness of the Thekk; but it would be nice to have a little more impact and richness, or "tonal density" as people used to say early on in this thread.
