Magni V2 does not seems to be lower performing than the V3 according to what I read about it, it has a bit more bass and little less treble.
Maybe I did not read properly ?
More Bass and less Treble for the V3 I meant

Hi.

Magni V3 is better.

The V1 and V2 versions of the Magni (identical except for the number of vents (port) in the rear back: 2 vents for the Magni V1 against 1, in the shape of a bat's head, for the V2 version) are less well damped than the latest V3 version of the Magni with its solid wooden frame avoiding resonant internal plastic parts.

Quote Valentin (Interview with Kennerton CEO) :
" Magni are closed-back headphones based on a graphene membrane emitter with a triple magnetic system. The first version was technically imperfect: there was a resonant peak within upper frequencies range because of the poorly cushioned back wall in some pieces. So we started to improve the design. For instance, we’ve got correct cushioning by the wooden frame and gave the holed metal flange some cushioning, too.

As for the overall tuning, Magni are pretty bass-focused (judging by figures), but subjectively even-sounding headphones. They provide a fantastic sound stage, but need to be warmed up, they just won’t sound as good as they can without it."

EDIT: The Gjallarhorn GH 50 with its integrated wood horn in the cups also has a solid internal wooden frame, a priori without vibrating plastic parts.

Hi all.

Wow ...

The M12S has been knighted; it has just left the Fischer Audio brand, to join, with this 2020 model of the M12s, the very select club of Kennerton headphones.

After the Magni V3 and the Gjallarhorn GH 50, here is the arrival of a new closed back headphones at Kennerton, the Kennerton M12 Studio. Welcome ! :)

Hi all.

The LSA HP-2, a closed-back electrodynamic headphones (manufactured by Kennerton for LSA), has just dethroned the Magni V1 (already tested in 2019 by William Murdock) in the spot of #1 best headphones of this year 2020.

The LSA HP-2 closed-back headphones takes the main elements of the Kennerton Gjallarhorn GH50, but with a different design.

Let's hope for Kennerton that the Magni V3, superior to the V1 (and V2) versions in its more massive design with its solid wood frame (that eliminate any resonant internal plastic parts), will stand up to it!

As for the all-new Kennerton M12 Studio headphones, derived from the Fischer Audio M12s (2020), this closed-back headphones would have a similar sound to the Magni, only with a slightly darker hint.

Quote (Valentin K) (interview): " That’s how we’ve got our M12s (2020) — headphones similar in sound to the Magni, only with a slightly darker hint. It’s now pretty difficult to compete with these within the corresponding price range. "

I have the LSA HP-2 with the felt mod. It is the best sound I have ever heard out of anything. It actually does not sound like a headphone, it sounds exactly as if you're in the same room of the band at the studio. I will be taking these everywhere I go as a portable headphone considering they can be run off a smartphone's headphone port (and they get loud!) and still beat any TOTL headphone that needs a portable DAC in sound quality.

There is no way they're staying home due to their excellent sound isolation, lightweight/comfort and end game sound quality. I don't care if the cable is as thick as a garden hose, I'll roll it up and tape it to my body (or put it in a fanny pack and carry that around) if I have to.

Good evening.

I would like to come back to the design of this Kennerton M12 Studio headphones, which I find brilliant and daring. :)

I find Kennerton currently employs a very good designer for the design of the latest productions of Kennerton headphones (from the Magni).

20091108180523553817019066.jpg

Look at the calligraphy of the word M12 with the right leg of the M becoming a 1: did you notice it?

And then, the shape of the vent (above the 1 or the M?), In the shape of a bat's head, and which represents the logo of the Kennerton brand.

And then, this mixture of colors: green and red-violet; It may surprise at first glance, but I find on the contrary that it is very "modern" in addition to being daring and that it is out of the ordinary and the conformism of color associations, such as red and black.
It's a bit like the post-impressionist paintings with Fauvism and their even less classic colors, with green reflections, which are out of the ordinary.

Fauvisme-mouvement-art-e1569655458811.jpg

For Fauvism.

So all these distinctive signs of the Kennerton M12 Studio, which are pure design, suggest to whoever looks at this headphones, that it is not an ordinary headphones, that it is out of the ordinary, and therefore deserves all your attention. :)

Good evening to all.

I wish you a great time with your favorite Kennerton headphones. :)

What is for sure is that tonight, with my Thekk, listening to this music from this live concert of Nightwish at Tampere, and the voices of these three singers, not to mention the associated instruments: wind instruments, bass, electric guitar and synthesizer, well, the atmosphere of the concert is great. The sound is warm, enveloping, but at the same time extended, airy. It's great! :)

Edit: What's nice about this Live at Tampere (in Finland) concert with the band Nightwish is to see the same almost religious fervor of these two Finnish women of different generations. It moves me.

Hey Eric,

Whats that silver box on the right...is it your dac?
Did you like the Thridi?

Cheers

It's a "big" french high-end dac, plus beside, a high-end CD drive, with external power supply (for both) : dac Audiomat Maestro Reference + drive Audiomat D1.
https://www.highendaudio.fr/audiomat/archives/maestro-reference
https://www.highendaudio.fr/audiomat/drive-d1

The Blu-ray player is a Panasonic DP UB-9000
The big screen is a Plasma Panasonic screen 65" (165 cm)

Yes, Thridi is good, like all Kennerton planar headphones (and electrodynamics headphones, too), but i prefer even more the Thekk and the Thror, more airy.

PS: sorry for the dust that can be seen on the top of the dac Audiomat Maestro Reference: the camera's low-angled light flash is very revealing of this dust, more than the eye can see! (I just wiped this dac with a dust cloth ...).
For the pictures of the Panasonic Plasma screen, no flash, but lens stabilized in natural light (at least the one reproduced by the screen, during this concert).
