Hi everyone,

Her is below the last mail received this morning regarding the new Kennerton closed back :

Gjallarhorn will be available in about 10 days.
Preliminary, the price range will be 999-1099 Euro.
It will not look like LSA HP-2.
HP-2 was specially constructed and adjusted for LSA.

Actually, it is up to you as the sound (of these two models) is different, the sound signature is not the same.

Thanks!

I listened to both models - HP-2 and Gjallahorn

G-horn has better SQ, more space (deeper soundstage), more balanced sound

HP-2 has more impact and punchier bass, thicker sound

Is it a substantial real upgrade

This is a different character of sound. Magni have a smooth and detailed sound, very fast bass.

HP-2 and G-horn are more tasteful headphones, they have an engaging sound with big bass

Fostex TH-900 has the biggest soundstage among Magni, G-horn and HP-2. But all three Kinnerton HPs have more balance in sound than 900.

HP-2 are closest in sound signature to TH900 than others, but have the most compact soundstage.

G-horn are in the middle between Magni and TH900 - they go towards the balanced sound of Magni but have a powerful head from HP-2

BTW this is a prototype of custom version for Gjallarhorn that I ordered. I set out my preferences, logo, font, and the designer created this hottest custom design. Can wait to get it! It’s expensive but incredibly amazing

Is It a real closed back well isolated from outside noise, not like the TH 900 ?

Yes, HP-2 and Ghorn have a much better noise isolation than TH900

Not to add any other variables but I think they are working on a planar closed back as well. I am not sure which planar driver is the foundation for it. Hopefully it will be based on the carbon fiber one from the Thekk or Thror but more than likely it would the standard in the Odin / Thridi.

Is it just me or does a side on view of the Magni look like Lego Batman driving :D

Looking forward to hearing mine, if I like them I'm sure HP-2 or Ghorn will follow.

What does Kennerton have to do with Batman? Personally, I don't see any.

More seriously, and this is for my part great, the outlet vent on the back of the Kennerton Magni in the shape of a bat's head which is in fact the Kennerton logo: the bat's head, with a very fine hearing! :)

Any more information when we should be expecting them. I'm thinking about getting Ultrasone Edition 15 closed, but will hold off with purchase, if it is planned for this year.

I would love them to be based on Thekk, but I'm more than happy with my Thridi :)
