This is a thread to discuss everything and anything about Kennerton's closed-back headphones.

At this present time, Kennerton offers the following closed cans -
The Rögnir is currently in development, and will, hopefully, be released sometime in 2021. It is a planar magnetic headphone, and will rightfully take its place at the top of the pile, as far as closed-backs go within the company's stable.

This thread has branched out from the original generalist thread.

Love my Kennerton Magni's, had an issue w/ them and sent them off to Russia to be fixed back in October 2020, I've been tracking progress in a thread over at HFGF for months now just to show people what happens when/if something goes wrong with one of these fine pieces. Jan 2, 2021 is here and no communication back from Russia nor has the USPS tracking information been any help. As far as I can tell they are somewhere in Europe tied up in customs. Shipping anything during this pandemic and holiday season especially overseas has not been a pleasant experience. I figure I'll wait till April 2021 or so before I call them a total loss. I enjoyed my Magni's so much I would consider purchasing a second pair if i never see my originals again. YMMV this has been my experience so far.
I decided to post here on the off chance anyone closer to the Kennerton family views these threads and can offer an update on if my HP's actually made it there or not. Happy new year to all.

Thank you for opening this thread.:)

Good idea for those who do not follow the generalist Kennerton thread on a daily basis, already well supplied in publications.

I took the liberty to add in this new thread, this time dedicated to Kennerton closed-back headphones, some other useful keywords; because as you can see, through these keywords, you will find in the different head-fi threads (and reviews and tests) a mine of information about these excellent Kennerton closed-back headphones, the Magni V3 and the two Gjallarhorn GH 50 headphones (standard and JM edition equipped with a horn for these last headphones), without forgetting the M12s and the Jord, this last one being an on-hear headphones.

Of course, we should also find in this section the very awaited and promising closed-back planar headphones, the Kennerton Rögnir, which is announced for the year 2021 as an excellent high-end closed-back headphones, one of the best in its category: With its announced 400 g (for the prototype) (380 g to be exact), very probably a good sensitivity, it should be, as a planar closed-back headphones, the star headphones of this thread for the year 2021; without forgetting, of course, the other excellent Kennerton closed-back headphones, this time in electrodynamic technology, some equipped with a high-tech membrane covered with graphene (Magni/Gjallarhorn) and others equipped with the same high-tech membrane, but with a horn in addition (Gjallarhorn GH50 and JM Edition).

Follow this thread (and the associated keyword links) regularly; you should not be disappointed.

Well, to get to the point, here are some related links (and pictures) that you can follow to get to know some of these very good Kennerton closed-back headphones better.

Well, the package could be stuck with the Russian postal service. I purchased a CD via Discogs this year (in March), and it took more than 4 months to arrive (late July). It was actually stuck at the Russian post for a majority of that time; once it cleared customs, it was delivered to my place within a week or so.

You can connect with Kennerton via their representativess on the forum - @VKazanzhi (owner); @Mr_hatred

Good luck!

As always, a veritable source of info, my friend!

The more I look at the Rögnir, the more I'm convinced that I want to get it. Those cups look really beautiful, indeed.

Let's hope for more details from the Kennerton folks. :)

Magni owner/fan reporting :)
IMG_20200822_150438.jpg
I really like the way Magni presents itself and how wide (not open though) the stage is set. I will welcome a 'full' sized Kennerton closed-back though. The smaller pads give just the slightest of claustrophobia for me.
How big are the Magni relative to the Vali ?

The pads are actually smaller than Beyerdynamic's!
I always felt the default T5p pads were too small for me while the Magni/GH pads are just fine; the 105mm pads are just a bit more open and roomy.
Yea, I think the Vali is a perfect size; it feels solid, but not heavy, and I can walk around the house with them on and not feel silly. (Not that it would stop me :)

I've had my eye on some Magni's for awhile now, so I was interested in how they matched up.

the Magni are more portable and moveable due to the smaller size. It's really an amazing piece of headphone for the price.
I've got 3 "Kennerton" headphones at the moment and all 3 impress me enough to say that they compete with their best in class. The magni (for this topic) as closed back is just below the best closed back I ever owned, the 3k Focal Stellia and above the T5p gen.2 that has always been my favourite closed back headphones.
Why not Stellia? Discolouration of the leather, the cable and the price (rögnir is watching I know :p).

Wow, that's actually quite small. The pads on the T5p (2nd Generation) are already compact for a full-sized headphone, so anything smaller would be stretching it, really.

On the other hand, my Gjallarhorn doesn't feel too constricting in use, so it must be a little bigger than the Magni? Or, my ears are just on the small side.
