So I've been reading Hi-Fi News, and I did a search on his name in these forums, and I've come to the conclusion that Ken Kessler is a headphone geek. You know, like us.
So I wrote him. I think we need to get him "on board" (in the same way that markl's letter was an attempt at getting Stereophile "on board"). Not necessarily "convert" them -- trying to convince them that headphones are superior or anything, but that (a) headphones are a viable alternative to speakers for multiple reasons (neighbors, room limitations, etc.); (b) they are a good entry point for the beginning audiophile; (c) they are a good alternative for the more financially restricted audiophile; (d) they are a non-insignificant niche market that should not be ignored.
I just want the same things that I wanted from Stereophile -- more headphone-related equipment reviews (although, if you do a similar search, you can see that they've already been pretty good about it), and more headphone-related views in their non-headphone-related equipment reviews (specifically, how's the headphone jack). He just gave a rave review in the August issue of the Denon micro system, and although he mentioned that it was smaller than a headphone amp he owns (the RKV, I suspect), he did not mention the quality of the headphone jack. This could be the next Kenwood RD-VH7, for all I know! Dagnabit...
