I picked up a Kawasaki PVS1102 portable DVD player last weekend. I wanted something for my train ride into work and found this on sale at Target for like $120 off their regular price. I could use a laptop but I've found all laptops to have terrible headphone out jacks. So far it's worked out very well. The picture isn't the best I've ever seen but what do you expect from a 10" LCD screen. The sound is where this player really shines. The headphone out is clear, very clean and can go quite loud. I like to watch concerts on DVD and the sound is excellent without an amp. It catches the subtleties of female voices and also has good punch and dynamics when I listen to my Godsmack Live DVD. I use my Shure E3c headphones with it and they seem to be a good match. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reasonably priced portable DVD player.
