Kaldas Research RR 1 Conquest ($500 Electrostatic)

Any one try this Auto eq?

I install this app on my samsung phone and feed to SP1000 in Dac mode.
I am seeking for apk version to try directly on SP1000 but only found xapk which SP1000 did not support.

About sound output tonal: much natural sounding!
( I reduce 3k peak in Auto eq curve by manual eq minus 3dB)
(I think there is somethings strange with measuring)

@MrTechAgent

Hi, do you have plan to make a non-electrostatic headphone. I just want something that can be easily connected without need of electro amp

I thought the RR1 was more musical than the L300. The bass is more present and the treble a little less present. The L500 was, in my opinion, comparable. The build of the RR1 was more robust. Value wise it is a no brainer.

Did the issues with the weird noises on the RR1 get fixed?

That "Weird Noise" is called "Squealing". It can happen if a minute dust particle enters the chamber.
We had issues with that in early units but since have received feedback and have added an extra dust cover similar to ones found in classical Electrostatic assembly and have improved the overall inspection process of the diaphragm.

Of course, this is one of many issues that can plague an Electrostatic driver.

@MrTechAgent I no longer heard a sound signal when discharging by touching cable's poles.
Is that need to care ?
More detail, zero with short cable and a veryyyy small sound heard with long cable.
This is firs time use again after two months no touch (I kept sr1 in a headphone case with silica pack inside my luggage. My luggage waiting me to go. Oh, corona 19!)

If you don't hear the discharge "tick" then the Bias hasn't flown through the diaphragm. Just needs some time to charge up in case the last time you forgot to discharge.

Thank you.
Music sound ok as usual. It sounds fast almost no delay since plugging to amplifier.
It seems no electron remains on headphone right after unplugging.
I discharged any time after use and continue to do so. Just asking

Loving the sound on these but the headband really is the only flaw. The provided strap broke 7 days in and the extra one was too big. The strap slider should have been longer. I put the Verum One strap on it (another debut headphone by a guy with passion 😉) and now it's really comfy.

I’m assuming these need an electrostatic energizer to run. Has anyone tried them with the iFi iESL? iCAN pro? How does that work? Sound?
Wow. This is crazy af.
I was literally thinking about this yesterday. I have been following this thread and read every page.. but only decided to "watch" it from yesterday. And the first notification I receive is about iFi *mind blown*

What a coincidence. I'm genuinely shocked hahahahha

I'd like to know that as well. Fingers crossed someone will chime in shortly!

I reckon a Woo Wee and a vintage poweramp would smoke iESL.
