I couldn't resist the K501s for the street price that I have been seeing lately. I like the sound, but what is with these itchy pads? I think that they are made out of recycled leisure suits! I seem to still have a polyester allergy.

I love the pads on the Beyer DT831s. Anybody tried adapting? Does AKG have any other options?

Thanks

Yah I know what you mean...a huge contrast from Beyer pads. In any case...the pads do soften up a little with time. Try throwing them in the washer from the start. They come off and on easy with twist and turn.

Thanks Tim. I tried the wash trick, and it helped a little. I will try to stick with them for a while and see if they soften up, or my face toughens.

I didn't realize that the pads bayonette mounted. Very slick. I wish that the Beyers and Sens worked the same way. The Beyers are especially scarey, requiring an implement like a butter knife, and we all know how dangerous that can be

Thanks again.
