Today I got myself a copy of "This is k2 HD Sound!" from FIM (www.fimpression.com) and listening it through my kW SACD player and WooAudio Amp and my Grado HP-1 the experience is stunning. Never have I heard resolution to such a high standard when providing a very analogue sound, super-real and right proportion sound stage in 3 dimensions !

I would highly recommend this to be THE new REFERENCE for head-fi listening - this recording is definitely of reference quality, and set a new benchmark in CD audio.

I also read about this on the StereoMojo website, so I'm going to see if it lives up to the hype and can beat my current references.

I just received the FIM K2-HD sample disc. I would have to agree: it is the best sound quality I have heard from a redbook CD. Can't wait for more releases.

Had a chance to listen to this yesterday, and I'm very impressed. I would certainly recommend this for use as a reference CD, and it has many engaging tracks.

My only caveat is you'll need at least one additional reference if you are a fan of music that focuses on the following: male vocals, deep female vocals (ex. Patricia Barber), hard rock or metal, and/or extremely complex passages. This disc doesn't represent those types of music. For anything else, I highly recommend it.

For those who are not yet aware,

The famous "Black Church" - Cantate Domino is now issued in K2 HD format.

I will be getting one - this is one classic benchmark of "church recording" !
