I just moved into my own apartment, and I have bills and rent to pay. It's funny what that can do one's spending habits.

dsnuts will get us all hooked for sure if they are that good

jvc ha-fxz100 around $280

jvc ha-fxz200 around $380

looking at the specs, they're both the same but the fxz200 is 1g more without the cord

those preorder prices are ********. I expect for the fxz100 to come down well under 200, something like 170, maybe even 150 on sales and such and the fxz200 to be at about 250$-ish... that's when I'm gonna buy it XD

I have to admit that these things intrigue the hell out of me but I really can't justify them based on curiosity alone. But if the reviews look good you never know LOL. The early impressions of the 200 model doesn't sound like my cup of tea though. So I am hoping the 100 model is more balanced with better mids and treble.

Yeah at that rates, I'm not going to pre-order, even if this is the True Successor for the FXT90. I'm probably going to aim for the FXZ100 though, since I assume everyone that's buying it early are going to get the FXZ200. Besides, this is also based on Currawong and the gang's brief impressions of them at the Tokyo Headphone Autumn show.

the FXT90 is still being sold by many ebay retailers at $140 and above, so I wouldn't hold my breath in waiting for the FXZ100 to go well under $200 anytime soon.

They sell for about $200/275 respectively in Japan and their prices aren't really going to fall. So you're always looking at $50 MINIMUM on top of that.

MSRP is 200, which means that on say amazon.jp they will go for about 150 - or maybe even less... take the sony XB90EX price on japanese amazon:
http://www.amazon.co.jp/SONY-%E5%AF%86%E9%96%89%E5%9E%8B%E3%82%A4%E3%83%B3%E3%83%8A%E3%83%BC%E3%82%A4%E3%83%A4%E3%83%BC%E3%83%AC%E3%82%B7%E3%83%BC%E3%83%90%E3%83%BC-XB90EX-%E3%83%96%E3%83%A9%E3%83%83%E3%82%AF-MDR-XB90EX/dp/B008G80FIU/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1352495991&sr=8-1-fkmr0

see how much of a difference there is between the msrp and the "street price" - 40-45% price drop from the full retail price is usual occurrence...
