Hmm. I've been away for a while haven't I? Work beckons. Never thought life could take over again after I first joined Head-Fi!

Well, that and also because I've been expressing some of my geek genes here lately: www.stardestroyer.net/Empire

I used to work with someone who's heavily into that kinda thing Joe, his screen-name is 'Sothis5'... if you ever bump into him in your circles, say hello from me

I actually checked out his equivilant site a while back, and I can't believe just how in-depth people go about which 'alliance' would destroy the others...

Makes our Grado vs Sennheiser debates seem amazingly lacklustre

Nice board Joe!

I read www.theforce.net and have been a diehard Star Wars fan since my infancy. I have been playing the RPG since 1990 or so and reading everything up until a couple of years ago. Then...sadly I felt everyting went into the crapper. I HATE the New Jedi Order story line and the Wizards of the Coast RPG is a ripoff. This new forum though seems interesting.

The first day I stumbled on that board I must have spent 24hrs over the next two days reading everything there

If you go to the fanfics section in the main page and in the forums there are stories to waste whole days over... although so far I found only one that's finished, 'Conquest' on the main page. :|

No redshifter but my bad electronics karma continues... that new computer I bought last September continues to be a crashworthy wonder and nothing I or the repair guys in the computer shop did helped anything
frown.gif
I'm seriously considering giving it away to my uncle
mad.gif
, maybe he can fix it
mad.gif

Other than that, I haven't been touching electronics enough to fry anything

It could be

Bad PSU ?

Unstable electricity ? Get a surge filter, only £10

Funny Anti virus running in the background

IDE cables not seated correctly

Hard Drive on it's way out?

Over heating? need a extra case fan?

That is the kind of computer that i'd love to get my hands on
biggrin.gif

My own used to be like that, after i'd done various upgrades to it... eventually figured everything out, and for the past 8 months or so its been running perfectly (fingers crossed

)

But... that makes it boring... no challenge!!

Changed the PSU, got a power conditioner, swapped hard drives, AND the computer reboots after 2 min., before it has even warmed up!

Joe,

you don't list your computer in your profile.
biggrin.gif

it's probably a University virus, pirated software, or just plain bad mobo. actually, look to memory - are they all the same sticks?

any popcorn caps? (especially if it's an ABIT mobo).

btw, my newest HA is a Parasound HCA-1000. D
