Do I have this right? I always, always thought that they were only lacking gapless, not crossfade as well...
Just to be sure... iPods still don't crossfade?

yeah, they don't do crossfading (with Apple's firmware)

yes, ipods never had crossfade (and still don't)...but they do gapless now

Just use Rockbox, then you also get hardware equalisation.

If you install a different firmware you can have crossfade if that other firmware has that feature.
