Kind of a useless post...but I thought I'd share
I'm just sitting here on the ground with my laptop on my thighs, 30gig video ipod on my crotch, with 325i's + flats on my comfortable ears, listening to Mylo, deeply thinking about headphone pads. I've been using my 325i's for a while with the hd414 pads. I was satisfied...never switched pads. Today I made the permanent switch to flat pads. I've had these flats sitting in my room for almost a year now; I don't know why. These pads are sooo much better than the bowls and 414s. No sharp highs and only a bit too-bassy bass (which you can fix to work with your music by moving the phones more forward on your ears). Buy these pads people! Even if you don't own grados...buy them.
So now I have some sr-60's coming in the mail, and I only have one pair of flats (they're gonna stay on my 325i's), one pair of 414's (they look stupid on the all black grados IMO), and two pairs of bowls. I've never heard 60's, but I used to have an 80, and I think I like the bowls just fine on the 80's. Ya, I'm rambling on I think. I was just wondering if I should get another pair of flats for the 60's.
Grado for life.
Sennheiser? no thanks.
the 60's are gonna be my portable phones...the 325i's will stay home. FYI
