first off, its a tigger built CMOY. if you want a good amp for a low price, turn to him! sales pitch aside

i love this. until now, i did not particularly like my 2 day old ksc35s. they werent bad, but they werent that good. now, behind this little amp, they are improved tenfold. detail, soundstage, clarity, everything is better. during the week and a half while i was waiting for it to arrive (**** you, canada!
wink.gif
) i was having thoughts such as "great, jeff. way to waste $40. why the hell do you need an amp? what difference will it make?" but now i totallly love it!

btw, this is an objective comparison, the "non-amp vs amp" thing. im just using a sony discman atm, which doesnt even have line-out... but its still quite a valid comparison. everyone says "upgrade your source!" and i intend to do so, as soon as the Rio Pearl is released.

well, i have the eggo sp, and no extension cord... i lost it on an airplane.... i was using the sp extension from my ex71sp, but i just sold the ex71s. there is no radio shack in my little hamlet (there used to be 2.... i was practically the only customer). i asked my friend to pick one up for me, but it will be a couple days before he can head down to the city.

anyway, i bought mine from Tigger. PM him, as he may have another ready, or be ready to build one. It is a CMOY, not a xin. it was $40. hope that answers your questions!

Congratulations!

Now you know how much an amp is REQUIRED for headphones. I would never go back to no amp, no matter what. It just seems boring and lifeless without one.

I have a tigger meta42 and it works great. He's also been very helpful with my questions. The only problem is the amp got me interested in cables. Must stop....

Wow. 10-fold? My supermini makes my KSC35's sound better, but i'd say closer to, 20%. In fact, sometimes I just use KSC35's + iPod because I don't want another bulky thing in my pocket (supermini is bulky, yes, when you have keys, cellphone, ipod, headphones, gum, change, wallet in your pockets)

NewSC2 has something ill agree with. Tromping around i cant always take my mint meta with me even though its far and away the most portable amp ive ever owned. There are times i cant have all that stuff floating around. That being said i love to use it when i can..its so cool to sit on a plane (for example) whip out my ipod etys and mint meta and the passanger next to me is like ??? and i reply "you see...(launches into huge monologue about hi fidelity headphones, amping etc and how the uninformed are missing out yada yada" muhaha...btw my mint meta is also from tigger and i have to agree he was absolultey great , gave me the led color of my choice and the product is fantastic!

I've also just had a META Mint from tigger, burning in nicely for 7hrs now. Checked in every hour and the sound just seem to improve by the hour. Can't imagine going back to unamped. My only issue now is the amp is showing more and more the shortcomings of mp3's (iPod) as compared to CD's
