So I got the Shure e2c in the mail yesterday .... love them so far except for the very uncomfortable default sleeves (I also tried the orange mold-fit sleeves but they are small and scratchy). The default sleeves are hard and irritating. So I took the soft rubber sleeves off my broken Sony mx71SLs and had a nearly perfect fit on the e2c. Still excellent sound isolation and bass response. Definitely worth a try if you have a few pairs of in-ear canalphones and want to switch out the sleeves.

Does anyone know about the triple flange sleeves and if they fit the e2cs? Thanks.

Shure sells the triple flange for these, but they're rumored to be uncomfortable because they're so large and it's a lot to go in your ear, but everybody's ear is different so it's hard to tell.

The best tips are the foam flex tips, by general comparison. Not the clear ones, the grey ones. A lot of people have trouble finding comfort with the clear ones. Check out Shure's website for the accessories page on the E-series headphones. They sell all different kind of tips there.

I've used the EX-51/71 tips with my E2Cs. I even went as far as to create/modify a mod the got a good deal of play on these forums -- using hot glue and (later) tiny washers made from aquarium tubing to keep the tips from falling off.

Ultimately, none of my home remedies really were seamless and ideal. So I kept checking Shure's site and noticed a few months ago that they've introduced soft flex tips (http://www.shurestore.com/earphones/...essories.html). I ordered them and they are just what the doctor ordered.

They look and feel very much like the EX-51/71 tips, but are made of thicker rubber and -- most importantly -- do not fall off. Extremely happy with these tips.

BTW... the triple flange are not for the E2C, which have a larger tube.

Is it just me, or do the black tips just create a lot of pressure in your ears? not like pressure against the side, but air pressure so that it feels like I need to pop my ears every time I put them on... They are pretty comfortable (I actually got a full set [S,M,L] included in my e2c's when I bought them a week ago) but they just feel... strange. I'm using the medium foamies right now, and they're alright, but I'm still searching for a perfect fit.
