I just bought:

A pair of HD-650's from TTVJ (who is also sending me a demo e5c)
A 2.5 meter Mobius from Zu Cable's eBay promotion ($215 with shipping)

I haven't even heard the 650/Mobius -- only the 600!

Todd is sending me a demo e5c so I can review it against my ER-4S!
Without charging me! He is letting me use it -- what a nice guy...

That is why I have bought the following from him:

Emmeline HR-2
Etymotic ER-4P
P to S adapter cable
Extra foamies
AD-8065 op-amp's
AD-797 op-amp's
Ted's Headphone Extension

He is an unbelievable dealer with phenomenal prices!

Thanks to Todd, Hirsch, SIE, et al for convincing me to get the HD-650!

I AM SO EXCITED! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I think you'll enjoy the 650+Zu. Going from stock->Oehlbach was a small improvement. Going from Oehlbach->Zu was like getting a different headphone!

Enjoy the new cans BANGPOD! Just give them plenty of time to run before pronouncing judgement. They sound incredible after the first 200-300 hours go by. I've been wanting to hear the Mobius cable, but have yet to hear it.

Let us know what you think about the Senns/cable once they have a week or so on them.

I have, but not for a period of weeks at a time...

Todd is letting me demo them so I can write an in-depth review.

I referred to them above as a demo pair because:
The pair he is sending me is the one people listen to to try it.

That is the only reason why I referred to them as such.

Nice decision! You'll really like the 650/Zu with the HR-2. Talk about one-stop shopping! I've tried a bunch of Senn replacement cables, and a lot of them are quite nice, but the Zu Mobius and Moon Audio Silver Dragon seem to tug at my heart more than any of the others. They're very different from each other, but both very appealing in their own way. I think the Mobius gives the 650s' a fuller, more enveloping sound with more bass extension and coherency, whereas the Silver Dragon provides oodles of detial and seems a tad more "accurate" than the Zu, but perhaps not as musical.

I hope your right about the 650/Zu with the HR-2.
I want a little less detail and accuracy for a change.
If I wanted the Silver Dragon, I could just use the ER-4S.

I want a little change of pace! AD-797's here I come!

How many hours of burn-in do the 650's need for impressions?

HD-650'S IN THE HOUSE!!!

I ordered from Todd at noon on Tuesday and it is here at noon on Thursday!
It is remarkable how fast Todd ships his products out -- and with such care!

Mine was perfectly wrapped and everything!

But I can't listen to them yet because I am Mobius-less and rig-less!

WAHHHHH!

More evidence to support my evolving theory that Todd's shipping is based on precognition. Things go out before you order. Nothing else explains the speed with which every purchase I've made from him has turned up on my doorstep. And his packaging's probably outsourced to the people who prepare nuclear materials for interstate transport. Absolutely indestructable.

So when can we expect a preliminary report on the HD650/Zu/HR-2 combo? Inquiring minds want to know.

And congratulations (lucky dog)!

Bill --

I know for a fact Todd is clairvoyant.
And, yes -- his packaging is excessive.

When I go back to Emory (January 15th), I'll listen frequently.
You can expect first impressions a week later (January 22nd).

I'll let them burn in here and then take them for a spin.

I may be lucky, but you have your rig within reach...

I don't.
