Hey guys, I'm new here, just signed up.

Anyways, just picked up my first semi-decent pair of headphones. I got a pair of Sennheiser HD-212 Pro's from Guitar Center. I figure they're decent for a first pair of headphones. They sound just as good as the Bose TriPorts for less than 1/2 the price (I think Bose is an absolute ripoff).

I've already started burning them in. Any suggestions on good stuff to burn these in with?

So yeah, I just wanted to introduce myself and what not.

Edit: nevermind about the question...just saw the sticky.

I did notice that myself. I don't even know what I'll buy next...

Welcome aboard, rlick. I'm fairly new around here myself and I'm already about $150 into this vicious cycle.

While you were at Guitar Center, were they pretty good about letting your try out various headphones? I'm looking to make a trip to my local one soon and am curious to know if they let you test drive stuff. Thanks.

I have a feeling I'll be into it pretty deep soon enough too. Except this is still cheaper than some hobbies.

As far as Guitar Center goes... They were pretty good about letting me try what I wanted. They had a decent selection, I'd say about 10 or so different higher end pairs in the Pro Audio department and about 10 or so lower end pairs in the accessories section.

Guitar Center is an all around cool place. Especially the Pro Audio department, they've got some neat stuff in there and they pretty much let you mess around with any of it. So I suggest taking a spin over there sometime.

And oh yeah, try not to pay the sticker price on it. 90% of the stuff in there is discountable. Just be like "Do you guys discount the products at all?" and they should work with you on the pricing.

Glad to hear it. I'll need to make a trip out there this holiday weekend. As broke as I'll likely be buying headphone stuff it'll probably have to qualify as my vacation. As a realitve noob to the world of better audio, I can really vouch for the AKG K81DJs. If you consider yourself a fan of bass and want a well built set of closed cans that sound great, isolate well and go for great price, you'll want to look into them. Many people on this forum consider it to be the best headphone in its pricerange.

I'll pick a pair of those up too, sounds good.

I'm really liking my HD's so far, however the only problem I'm discovering is that they're a bit uncomfortable after you have them on for a while. It looks like the AKG's remedy that problem a bit, due to their bigger size.
