Just out of curiosity, anyone find these new iPod cases attractive?

They look like a day care art project made by a six year old, when upon said child's return, that a parent would be forced to proclaim that the art project is beautiful. But considering that it's professional...ick.

I don't care for the white finish of the bare iPod, but I'd proudly wear my iPod out in the open bare before I'd wrap it in something that tacky. No thanks.

too bad you wont survive a day without a case.... i left my pristine ipod out of its case because i wanted to give my iskin a brake and the metal backing and acrylic face was scratched up bad (all from inside my pocket and leaving it on my desk).

My iPod Mini has never been in a case. It doesn't have a scratch on it. I've probably dropped it three or four times, too.

Maybe the anodized aluminum is a bit more scratch resistant than the big pod's lucite and polished aluminum, though...

Maybe the Mini is more resistant to abuse. I have had for abut 8 months now. It stays in my pocket without a case. Not a single big scratch and only a few tiny ones.

It's anodized, a processs similar to electroplating but using current and an electrolyte to dye a piece of aluminum rather than plate a metal. I'm not entirely sure how the anodizing process works, though.

I've never really understood the whole aftermarket case thing. Especially those ridiculously priced Vaja cases.

I guess since it's not as though I will be passing down my iPod from generation to generation, who cares if it gets a scratch or two?

Am I alone here?

lol people would do anything to rid their precious ipods of its scratches. there are like 50 dollar kits to remove them and some people have turned to using tooth paste with whitening

thats the whole point. apple wants you to get it all scratched up so you'll want to buy a new one.
