Just ordered a KSC75 w/ a question...

My understanding is if I do that 'quarter hole' mod, it'll have the sound sig of a Grado? I've been wondering what a Grado sounds like...

That's what people say. And the Grado sound is described as "bright."

I think it's too bright. The treble becomes really aggressive with the quarter hole mod. It sounds more neutral to me with the stock pads.

Last thing i want is my ksc75 sounding like a harsh grado.In this case I feel we should leave well enough alone.Love my ksc75 sound as is.

i would leave well enough alone too. i just picked up a fresh KSC-75, and tho it's not burned in at all and i know the highs will smooth out, i don't think this really needs the hole mod to bring out any more highs.

at first i thought they were too bright/harsh too, so i left those foams as is. i was turned off to grado when people kept sayin they were like 75's but brighter, and they were my first choice before i got to headfi.
