Could someone give me advice on what step down transormer I need. Preferably a cheap one. I have no experience with this, and dont want to harm the amp. Thanks.

You'll probably get lot of good advice if you ask in the Stax thread in the High-End forum instead. The Amp forum here discusses dynamic amps for the most part from what I've seen over the years...
