So, this evening a surprise stop by the mailman left me 20 dollars lighter (damn you customs!) and with a beautiful new cable. I ordered the Cryo Dock from Ken last Monday, and the service is incredible. It arrived so fast!

Anyways, onto initial impressions. I've only been listening for about an hour, so nothing too deep yet. For reference, I've owned the ALO Ultra Thin Copper Dock and the ALO Silk Dock. I'm not sure if I notice a difference between the Silk and the Cryo, though there is a difference with the Ultra Thin Copper Dock. The bottom end seems to be much more controlled, as well as giving the highs, especially cymbals, a nice and crystalline sensation. The instruments sound spacious and airy, like they are playing in a room with me in them, rather than being piped in through a little tube, like through the headphone out (man, that was the longest week ever

So far, I'm ecstatic with my purchase. It is much more robust than the Silk Dock, my previous main ALO cable, which is great given the highly mobile use of my rig. I have no doubt that the Cryo will last a long time, even when thrown around in my shoulder bag, whereas I was a little apprehensive doing the same with the Silk Dock.

Thanks for a great product Ken! You're a genius!

first off, glad you're liking the cryo dock (that might be my next purchase,

). i'm still weary that the bling bling dock can't take the abuse of being tossed around in the shoulder bag...

second, you got hit w/ a $20 custom charge? i've ordered twice from Ken before and haven't incurred a custom fee...interesting...*knock on wood*

Yeah, I was surprised too. The last two cables that I ordered didn't have a customs charge, though they were under-declared. I forgot to ask him about that this time, and it must've slipped his mind or something. Whatever, it's not that big of a deal, though 20 bucks on a cable valued at 85 was huge

I have to agree. Just got my Cryo Dock last week (custom length, right-angle plug), and am very impressed with both the dock's build quality and the sound improvement. Ken was a joy to work with, answering all of my tedious questions, and building/shipping it with lightning speed. Highly recommended.
