Just got a 333es...

My, this thing is so much better than my old deck! Even without an amp I think the sound is comparable to the MG Head with my old source(MD/CD recording deck). The soundstage is so much wider and instrument separation is also much better. Only complaint so far is the bass, it seems a little bit bloated from the headphone jack. Hopefully its only from the jack, now I can't wait for my Headmaster!

hmm i've bought one as well, but will be receiving it in july when my cousin and grandma come over... good to hear good things about it!

Sorry for the confusion, its the sacd player. I tried the Sony sampler, like I said the instrument separation is far superior and the overall detail is better. I haven't had too much quality time with it just yet, so I'll report back when I listen to it for a while. Btw, the avatar is Elva Hsiao, and shes Taiwanese not Cantonese

That's Elva?!? *looks at 3 album covers of her* Man she doesn't look nearly as good on her CD covers...

Her albums are among my favorite CDs though.

If your headphone jack is anything like the 555ES, boy do I agree with you about the bass. I can guarantee, you won't find the Headmaster boomy.

elva looks pretty ordinary not spectacular hehe.. i like yanzi but according to a friend's friend, she doesnt look good in person without makeup... the friend was like

i dont wanna talk to her, coz she got to sit near yanzi on a flight...

Well, I took a look at your profile, and you might have better luck than I with the headphone jack of the 555ES being that you have low impedance phones. I strictly used the HD-600s for testing.
Maybe contact JMT for an amp also. Good luck!

i think it's best just to use the headphone jack now and upgrade later.. hear what it sounds like first...
