Hello Head-Fi!

Longtime lurker, first time poster here. My headphone (and wallet-depletion) journey started with Senn MX500, then onto Shure E3c, and very recently the Alessandro MS-1.

And I just had to share this with the world.

THEY'RE ORGASMIC.

And they're only about 20 hours burned in. I listen to metal/rock and classical, and my god the music just SINGS into my very soul. I never had the feeling before where I'm physically SHAKING from ear orgasms.

I swear... I wish I didn't buy the E3c's. They costed me at least double the MS-1's and are suprisingly inferior. And probably in less than a year, i'll blow several weeks paycheque to get something better, and regret buying the MS-1's.

Should I be thanking you, Head-Fi?

I love the MS-1 as well. I like them more than the MS-2i, for my own personal reasons. Don't upgrade just yet! Enjoy them!

I had the MS-1 and then got the 225 then got the 325i and after a little while wished I would have just kept the MS-1. The 225 was twice the cost and the 325i was three times the cost. All were sold and if I ever go grado again it will be the MS-1.

The MS-1 is an amazing entry level audiophile can. The Gateway Drug. Enjoy them and run far far away and never look back!

If you don't have em, get a pair of sennheiser HD414 pads. Like $7 shipped and IMO better and more comfy than the stock pads. Although they are bright yellow . . .

(you can get em from the sennheiser website)

Tell me more. I am undecided between the two.

On one hand, I don't want to buy the MS-1 only to want to upgrade later. On the other hand, if the two are distinctively different, then I might just go for the MS-1 for now.

I don't think you'd ever regret buying the MS-1s. Great can. About the only upgrade is an RS-1 from that line. But if you're willing to spend it...

You think your wait is bad, I waited three weeks for my MS-1's, and when they came I was in sonic bliss. Now I went out and got the MS-2's, and don't get me wrong, but whenever I switch back to the MS-1, I just get that ear to ear smile, like a little kid with an ice cream cone!!!

P.S. Still breaking in the MS-2's, plus I think I might be putting flats on them.

Like I said, don't get me wrong about the MS-2, it sounds wonderfull. The highs are more accurate and defined then the MS-1, but I like the impactful bass hit that the MS-1's give me. The MS-2 has great bass, but it is also more accurate and not as loose as on the MS-1. Go for the MS-2, you won't regret it, and after you break them in, if you feel you want more bass, just fiddle around with switching the pads to the flats and you will never want more!!!!
