Hallo @ll

Today I became a new member of this community and I would like to send
greets to everybody here.

I'm an absolute newbie in case haedphone/amplification.

I would like to get headphoens (mid-priced) like the ULTRASONE PROline.
I prefer a closed system. In this case I look for an amplifier which
fits in this area. No tube-amp, only a transistor system.

Does anybody have well-founded experiences with devices of CORDA, LEHMANN or C.E.C. like HD51/53? Even the qualitit of workmanship is
very important for me.

For any reports and appreciation I would like to say thanks at that time!

Greets,
Tymp

For mid-priced closed headphones I like the Beyerdynamiic DT770Pro 80 Ohms version. And my experience with Meier Audio Corda amps has been terrific. I LOVE my HA-2 SE Mk II.

Hi Tympanum, welcome to head-fi ...and sorry about your wallet!

As you can see in my signature I own a Ultrasone Proline 750 and my newest toy is a NX-02 from www.rudistor.com which I really like (review upcoming).

Rudi even built a special version for the PL2500 ( Sistema ).

Maybe you also want to consider this nice combo.

You won't find a lot of love for the Ultrasone Proline around here. They are more of a DJ headphone and fall a bit short of other sealed cans when you measure bang for buck as they have not been making audiophile headphones for as long as the competition.

As far as sealed cans the recs you are most likely to get are:

Beyer DT770
AKG K271
Audio-Technica ATH A900
Senn HD280

If you are a bass head the DT770 is your headphone, as far as the best all arounder the A900 is recommended alot around here and does not need an amp. The K271 may out perform the others but only when properly amped and all of course is subject to personal opinion. Headroom is a good place to buy online and they have a 30 day return policy. Good luck!

That's true - but some of us really love them.
And Head-Fi is the reason I have a pair
(by the way, thank you Head-Fi
