JMT Amp: How does one insert batteries?

I just received my JMT amp but I don't know how to put a battery in! Am I supposed to unscrew the amp? Any answers to this painfully ignorant question are much appreciated...

If you have the same plastic case I have:

There are two screws on the bottom, left and right. Don't mess with the other screws. Use a #1 phillips. When you remove the top half, remember that the front and back faceplates are detachable. They both slide into grooves that hold them in place. Also, the top half cannot be reversed--don't turn it around when replacing. Umm, I can't think of any easier way to put it.
