Thanks heaps mate!!!! Do you own one, or know anyone that does???
Cheers.
I have one ordered. Should hopefully show within the next week or two. I'll definitely report back once I do, and how well it pairs with the XTC2 and XTC2.5s.

It was under $800, if I recall. They have a discount code on their website for 24% off.

Correct, USD. I did get it with the PSU2, CS43198 dac chips, and SS3602 op amps. Feel free to PM me with any other questions. I may have taken this thread off the rails a bit 😁

Hi everyone.
I could use some assistance.
Can someone tell me the size of the cups, weight and size of the place, where the ears are coming, of the current JM Audio XTC and XTC 1.5?
They are like 700 and 1000 bucks each. Both very pretty and closed.
Thanks in advance.

I've been rockin' out to John's headphones since almost the beginning and absolutely love all the iterations I've heard.

Today I had one of those wonderful audio moments where the chain made such perfect sound that I had tears streaming (haha) down my cheeks.

I've had the opportunity to babysit the new Shanling M8t for the last few days and o....my goodness it's marriage to my XTC 2 berlyium
Made some special sounds this morning.

The tube modes on the DAP are fantastic and found incredible synergy. I've had some tough family health issues lately and I really needed that emotional awesomeness.

So thanks John! Wherever you are.

It's been my source of choice since its release. What an excellent dap and it pairs so well with both pairs of John's headphones I have. It drives the 2.5 easier than the NRG but neither are difficult. I posted a bunch of pictures of that in March

The TAP-1 Pro arrived this afternoon. The pairing with both the XTC2 and XTC2.5 is phenomenal! Plenty of juice to run the 300ohm drivers, even without the PSU. Just waiting for the brown leather case to finish being made and shipped. Until then, got to use these included rubber straps to keep it from getting scratched up.

That looks bloody amazing. Keen to hear comparisons to your desktop with battery.
I should get some good listening time on the TAP-1 Pro this weekend. From the last hour or so I have been listening on the XTC2's, I really prefer the TAP1-Pro over the Q15 and the xDSD Gryphon; more organic sounding, a bit clearer highs and equal in the bottom end to the Gryphon, except when using the x-bass mode on the Gryphon.

In other news, I was browsing through the Facebooks and came across some amazing looking stuff on John's page:

Mentioned as the XTC Carbon Universe. The gold flakes is what really pops for me.

Looks like he got the new Coffman Labs Lore next to what looks like the NRGs. That's a dream combo for me, one of these days!!

The XTC2 in Burl....this wood looks so amazing! If only I had the funds, I would want one in each of these special woods he does a limited run of.

Lastly, I heard that there may be a XTC2 Carbon Universe edition in the works. I will be keeping my eyes peeled on his Facebook to see if this rumor becomes a reality!

I recently aquired the new Auris Nirvana 6 amp and I can say it makes the XTC sound even sweeter, enveloping soundstage without loosing on the precision of the 64ohm drivers. Though I think I could now use the 300ohms version because the amp has variable adjustable resistance
