I just ordered a new gaming pc, but, it does not have digital out. I am going to either order this:

considering I'll strictly be using it for the digital out, does anybody anticipate reasons why one might create more jitter than another? I imagine it could remain a bit of a mystery, but maybe somebody has some interesting thoughts. Thanks!

Unless you need the features of a sound card, I would go for the back plate cable bracket.

I bought that exact soundcard. The digital out works great. The sound (I know you did not ask about the sound) was significantly better than the PC's built-in motherboard soundcard. So if soundcard sound is even a low item on your list of priorities you might want to consider the card.

I'm in a similar situation. I've just recently purchased a KEF LSX, and whilst its wireless mode is erratic- I've lost connection whilst playing a track on Spotify a few times - my fundamental use-case scenario is to feed an optical signal from my PC to the speakers. However, I don't have an optical output on my motherboard, so I'm looking at purchasing a Creative Sound Blaster sound card (e.g. AE-7, ZX) or a Topping D10S.

The sound card option provides greater flexibility; it is also a tad more expensive. On the other hand, the D10S plays a simple role - that of a digital bridge - and I think it'd excel in that function.
