Jh Audio Jolene Impressions and Discussion

The Jolene universal does include a 3D printed chassis system, the most advanced of all of our models so far. I can share some renders if anyone's interested in taking a peek inside!
Please do share! Can you expand on how that differs from the custom?

@a.w.bailey wow! Speechless, thanks for sharing!

when will the universal version be available?

In general I think that a 3D printed chassis will yield less variation in the sonic characteristics of the Jolene vs the custom version, thoughts?
Maybe that's the case. The way they are doing on this one will improve a lot the assembly process and time, since all components are assembled outside the tiny shell and then just placed inside there and always on the same place, no variation. That's good as they can achieve much better prices! :)

Impressive this looks like a top secret engine 😎

How does carbon fiber tube path react with sound vs traditional transparant tubes like in custom version?

I was wondering about this, the pictures clear it up. There has been a lot of talk of various acoustic chambers for different IEMs, but this seems to be more about assembly and getting everything inside the IEM in a good compact way rather than anything that would affect the audio or create differences there. Of course I certainly could be wrong.

On another note...

I would definitely love to see a version of the universal with transparent faceplates 👀

That would be quite the looker.

I’m a tech geek so seeing a bit of the tech inside just makes me happy 😂

That would be awesome to see. I assume the custom does not have a 3D printed chassis system?
Technically, the DOME enclosures housing the DDs are 3D-printed, I believe. But, I imagine all the tubing and sound ports aren't, because the customs have the space. Either way, I'm sure it's all functionally the same; just a bit more efficiently-spaced on the universal.

Thinking out loud here. Some machine learning can replicate similar unique structure for customs. Congrats to your product designers. Those are great industrial achievements in the business.

Do we know when the universal will be launched?
