That's assuming the post-pre-order price for the JH-3A doesn't go up because the real costs for making the beast are greater than JH Audio expected.  Fingers crossed....!

I`m confused regarding the cable requirements of the JH3A. What cable should I get to go from AlgoRhythm Solo to the JH3A?

  3. Bina
Coaxial cable with RCA on one side(I assume that Solo use RCA) and 3,5 mm jack on other. It  is simple.

just realized that i thought i was order 2013, but am in fact 2103.  so i guess my theory about being #13 is wrong, and i doubt I'm #3.    oh well. looks like ill be waiting until i return in march to get mine.  I'm going to have patience of steel by the time i receive them.

on a more mundane note -  wonder what this elusive hoodie looks like?  I hope its cotton.  Cotton sounds much better than Polyester.  [IMG]   I also hope it is a pullover rather than a zipper.  Zippers are prone to jitter. [IMG]

ooooooooh ... keeping my eye on this thread... this may have JH3A written all over it.. its not portable, but its small, and would probably be less "noisy" than running digital out from a computer.. best of all its CHEAP!

Hey Jerry, how about putting a Smyth Realiser in that thing?

Oh yes, I am serious about this. The sound of both headphones and IEM's, no matter how great, needs to get out of the head and into real space. The Smyth Realiser is the first product that has addressed this issue. Just imagine how great it would be if these two companies came together to make this possible. The sum would be greater than its parts. Revolutionary.

they don't need to get together. you can just do this on your own, and i'm sure it'd sound fabulous! there are members here (eg. see sillysally's posts in the he6 thread) who have the Smyth system and are using it with fancy cans & amps. SS even flew out to a production studio in LA to get measured using their stereo & surround systems as the reference. and Smyth demos with Stax cans.

Yes, and perhaps this is wishful thinking, but imagine if the Smyth Realiser were in the JH-3A? Then you wouldn't have to go a buy all these big, bulky, ancillary components to make this marriage happen. The JH-3A is already stepping forward as the ultimate all-in-one solution. Perhaps this could be the next step. Hey, you never know...

It's not that crazy of a notion, the JH3A is programmable DSP-based....  :)

  13. maverickronin
Jerry told me at Canjam that the DSP chip was only using a tiny fraction of its available computing power and that a lot more could be done with it down the road.  I don't know if any of that has changed though.

one thing that i think would be cool, is if it would auto detect DTS or dolby digital input and then run dolby headphone on it for movie watching.

of course the best feature they could have would be  a ship date
