Everyone is jumping on the IEM bandwagon recently. Jens of Sweden, Bose, JBL, among other IEM companies who've recently released lower-end models to compete with these sub 100$ IEMs.

Hey, at least they're not just another EP-630/CX300 like the new AKG IEM's. But then, who designed these? If AKG and Senn can't do their own IEM's yet, we can bet JBL didn't put together a design team for theirs. Maybe these are just another model from our old friends Foster's of Japan?

Ya but these have chrome on them (or fake chrome). Just as chrome adds horsepower to cars, it also adds frequency response and sound quality to headphones.

I'm suspicious, we all remember what happened to the first few KSC-50's Koss released with the nylon cord and they ended up switching back to rubber.

The area around where the eartip sits appears to be exactly the same moulding as the Sony MDR-NX1 and the V-Mode Bass Freq, both of which can be mistaken for each other at a distance. The rest of the bodywork, including the downpipe for the cable, appears to be more or less a rework of the design used in the NX1/Freq. Interesting that they've decided to use what appears to be cotton/man made fibre covered wiring only I would have thought that was a disasterous choice in light of how much a problem cable feedback and noise is with all IEM's... maybe they've used silk or some teflon mix.

Wow, this seems to prove that at least part of the housing was specified by JBL. That's more than Senn and AKG did with their IEM's.
