My modded JVC Marshmallows just broke...so I need IEMs for my Cowon D2.

I want to try something new so I found the JBL 220 and noticed that they're only about $36 shipped on ebay. Do you guys think these are legit? http://cgi.ebay.ca/JBL-REFERENCE-220...QQcmdZViewItem

And is there anything I should know before I buy them? I heard its a little bass biased which is not too big of a deal for me since I mostly listen to hip hop, rock and trance.

They look real enough. That's roughly the going price for these now, anyway. If anything the shipping to Canada is a bit high, you might find better.

oh, and what you should know about these if you haven't read it already is that they barely isolate. Still, I should think a nice cheap step up from the Marshmallows.

Didn't know that...but not too big of a deal. I didn't know these go for so little...they're still selling for $100 CAD at my local Apple store!

The picture on the auction isn't very good but I would be surprised if someone went through the trouble of copying the 220s since the housing is rather unique. That is a pretty cheap price though.

who knows, the fakes might sound better. I remember when the OVC predecessor to the Crossroads MylarOne X3 was snubbed as a fake vibe, which it evidently was, and now virtually everyone would agree that the X3 is far superior to the name brand option. Also, there have been reports of good-sounding CX300 clones as well. But if the real JBLs are only $25 on amazon USA, I don't know if there's any reason to take the risk.

Totally agree. That's a killer deal for what I consider to be a terrific little canalphone. I still have mine and put them above CX300s and Vibes which I both had and are now gone.

What is this OVC that you speak of?
V8, T10, V30+, T100 OR T50?

If memory serves, T25 was the one in the vibe housing, while T20 (supposedly the same driver) was OEMed to Crossroads as the first series Mylarone.

Be happy to be living in the US you've got so many choices for headphones.
