What is the difference between the japan and america makes on discman(the power supply especially.)

Japan-market D-EJ2000 has 3VDC input and has 100v power supply.

Japan-tourist or USA-market D-EJ2000 has 4.5VDC input and multivoltage 100-240v switching power supply.

Haven't figured out why Japan-market would have 3VDC input.

what about on the d-ej985's?

I think they kept the 4.5V for the US model because all of the other ones use that too (my 915 does), so I think it's just the standard for power adapters, and a way to keep things cheaper over here.
