Heya,

I've always been converting from MP3 to ATRAC LP2 and dumping them onto my MD player digitally... I'm not sure if that's the best way to go. I'm sure all the recompression isn't too good for the sound quality, but through my KSC-35s, they sound alright. I haven't been listening to them analytically though.

My MD player broke, as in I can't record things digitally anymore, so I passs my blank MDs to a friend and he helps me record the MP3s the same way I used to.

In what ways do you record MDs? Do you do Line-In and record in real time? Does that make the MD one big track? No gaps or track titles?

Do you guys record in 'Stereo'?

Maybe I should just rerip the songs I want to put on my MD in ATRAC LP2, then send them to my friend, is that possible? What software do you guys use? The Sony one's reaaaally buggy.

Oh boy. =P

You can't use MD with anything other than SonicStage (UselessStage ugh). You can't send your OpenMG files to a friend because they're DRMed to only work on your computer.

When I still had MD stuff, I recorded in real-time via digital in. It sent track marks on its own, btw.

I use my d40 deck to record CD-MD in realtime (SP) or in high speed (LP). Now that I have a HiMD unit, I use Simple Burner and the transfer rate (CD - MD) is A LOT faster.

Oi. (Look what you've done, aeriyn)

I think when it still worked, I used RealPlayer.... but the whole mp3->atrac->md compression thingie was still there.

Digital out... I only have the AV710 that does optical.. hmm...

MDs use optical, not digital coaxial which is what you're thinking aeryn meant.

The 1/8" mini-jack plug has an optical receiver in it, just go to the store and plug it right up to your output and you'll be happy
