I've fallen in love with my Grado SR-80s...

At first I didn't think I was going to keep them, because 1. I didn't really need them, 2. They were uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time, and 3. I wanted something with more bass.

I was all set to return them... but then I realized, I was going to miss them terribly, for whatever reason, if I returned them. One thing's for sure, these things have loads of charm, even if they aren't particularly modern looking or even very comfortable. The highs are a little harsh and they're not really for use outside of the home, but damn, these things really grow on you! I wonder if this means I'll eventually own a pair of RS-1s

yup - get a pair of RS1s and never look back

You'll probably end up there sometime anyways.

i love my sr80's too much. from my experience, the harsh highs smoothen out after a couple days of listening. ..now i need some nice closed cans for portable use.

Get 414 pads and reverse quarter mod them. Less sound stage but more bass .. i like the "in you face" approach.

unmodded 414 just killed the sparkle.
