I was all ready to post a thread on here about how much I love my UM1's. I bought them 6 or 7 weeks ago to use them on a 2-week backpacking trip in Europe and they've basically been glued to my ears ever since. Amazing comfort, a near complete absence of cable microphonics, totally sweet sound signature (for my tastes, WAY better than the ER6i's which I returned)... just a stellar product. I considered it probably the best price
erformance audio purchase I've ever made.
And then I figured out I was wearing them wrong.
I had them flipped, with the "butt" parts hanging downward and a little bit forward, instead of tucked toward the backs of my ears. I flipped them and fit them properly. Now they go in deeper and sound slightly better.
These things are great.
