Why doesn't iTunes sell 16/44.1 uncompressed? Granted, their 256k is pretty good, but I'd like to buy some albums uncompressed without buying the CD and ripping them. I use HDtracks for some (especially remasters), but for many CDs I'd just rather go to iTunes. It shouldn't make much difference for their storage when drives are so cheap. And data transfers are so much faster with broadband.

That is a good question considering hard drives are larger than ever, and internet connections are much faster than they were in 2007 when the switch to iTunes Plus as a sales format was made.

EDIT:  I'm also going to come out and say that I prefer the Amazon Music App for PC over iTunes for buying the single song here or there.  For full albums, I'm going to get the CD every time.
